How to activate notifications?
If you have not yet activated the notifications for iCurrency Plus you just have to complete a few simple steps.
Go to Settings, Notifications and you will see a screen with a list of apps that are in Notification Center. If the Currencies application is not in Notification Center, tap on it (1), and set Notification Center to "on" (2).
In the same screen you can set up how many notifications can be seen, and what type of notifications you would like to receive from the app (we suggest "banners").
Set "Badge app Icon" to "on" if you want to see the number of alerts currently available in the application badge and "View in Lock Screen" to "on" if you want to see the rates and alerts while the phone is locked. -
Two Different Notification Types
In the app we offer two different types of notifications.
You can activate "Show price in notification area" (3) and you will get up to date information on the currency rate changes straight into the Notification Center no matter what the currency rate is.
On the other hand, if you activate "Performance Notifications" (4)> you will get notified about a change of a rate when its performance has decreased or increased more than a predefined percetange over a period of time.
Both of these features cannot be activated at the same time, sine notifications about the same pair may show up twice. -
Rates in the lock screen too!?
Now with the new way that iOS 5.0 treats notifications, you can even the latest rate on the currency pairs of your choice on your lock screen.
The first notification showing after your phone is locked, will come up as a bubble with the notification message (6)
However, if you get many notifications, you will see all of them when scrolling up and down on the lock screen (5)
In both cases, if you slide the icon of the notification with your finger from left to right, you will go straight to the app where you can see other details and charts. -
Get notified anytime
Even while doing some other activities on your iPhone, you can still receive rate notifications at the top of your screen (7). If you get many notifications they will roll over one by one, so you won't miss any important changes.
You can also access recent updates by just pressing at the top of the screen and sliding your finger down to open the Notification Center (8) where the rates you chose will be displayed as well as some other important notifications.
Bonus feature: for precious metals followers, those rates in the notification center get updated more often, bringing you one step closer to real time rates, just a few mintues delay.
